Choosing the winners
Now it’s time for consumers to have their say – and they make their voice heard through the largest consumer survey of its kind in India. The independent survey is conducted by Nielsen and is unique in its intention as well as its size. It is the first consumer research exercise, which specifically asks the consumer about the appeal and interest of new innovative products currently available to them.
Demonstrating integrity
The independence of the Research Agency gives the process an integrity that underpins the awards – and by ensuring that the methodology remains consistent globally, the process ensures that the Indian award is as valid as it is in the other global markets.
Completing the questionnaire
Thousands of Indian households will go through a face-to-face interview to fill a survey, which includes colour photos of all the products in each category with an explanation of what they are used for and why they are innovative. Consumers will be asked to vote on all categories.
Processing the results
The answers cover three main questions per category – which product holds most appeal, which is always/most frequently used, and (of those used) which is the most appealing.
And the result? By the end of the process consumers across India will have chosen the Product of the Year – and the winners will be announced on our awards night.
